How long will my cold sore last?

So i just got a cold sore this morning. I put some Lysine+ on right away and then took it off 20 minutes later b/c i had to do my makeup. Right after i got home from school i put some more Lysine+ on. My cold sore is HUGE, like the size of a quarter and its not even on my lips but right above my lips. I wanna get rid of it before school ends which is in 1 week. I'm just wondering if i keep applying Lysine+(during and after school) if it'll be gone before school ends, and if not what else can i do.
