I want to be a good Christian, yet I am empathetic to gay people. What to do?

I firmly believe in the teaching of Jesus, that we are to love all people. While Jesus has instructed that which is sin, we were also instructed to judge not lest we be judged. Who someone else sleeps with is none of your concern, none of any of our concern. That is for them to deal with. Jesus did not call on us to defend G-d but to share his word. Perhaps it would help for you to look inward and exam why you feel so personnally about this issue. Do you honestly feel G-d will hold it against you if you tolerate a specific lifestyle? I also feel G-d would want you to own your heart. If marrying a couple is against what you believe then the sin would be yours if you were to agree. If a couple of questionable merit would expect a plausible amount of respect from you, they should be able to give the same in return. The bible defines marriage as the joining together of man and woman. Any church which would allow anything else is not a church of G-d. And any church which would require you to go against your heart is not a church you should consider. Saying this...None of us are free from sin, yet the G-d loves each and everyone of us. The sins you carry from this life are the ones you need to worry about. Not those belonging to others. You need to read more of the bible. You need to open your heart. You need to let Jesus in.
