My mom is an alcoholic my family needs help!?

Wow, that's tough. I also had this surgery about 5 years ago. My father also had it and I feel he has a problem with alcohol now. See, most of us who have had this surgery found comfort in food. Whatever mood we were in, food helped us get thru it. Reading up on post surgery stories and literature, many people find comfort in another thing. For your mom, now its alcohol. As far as getting her into a detox and rehab, she would have to admit herself or if she threatens to take her life or harm herself then that's when authorities should step in.
